A tradition, brought forward
A form shaped by hand, not by time.
The Debarska Alka is crafted using Graviranje —a rare technique once practised by a small community of artisans in Debar.
Each curve, each incision, made with precision and patience, echoes a tradition that has all but disappeared.
Clean in silhouette, intricate in detail, it carries a quiet weight — of craft, of memory, of origin.
Heritage
Heritage
The Graviranje technique was developed by a small community of artisans in Debar, Macedonia, and became a beloved style throughout the mid–late 20th century across the former Yugoslavia.
Crafted with specialised tools and blade inserts, Graviranje involves delicate incisions and shaping to form elegant, enduring motifs — often passed down through generations.
For this piece, we’ve collaborated with one of the last surviving Graviranje artisans in Debar, honouring their legacy by reimagining this once-iconic style as a contemporary cuff bangle.
To wear the Debarska Alka is to keep a nearly-lost tradition alive — in beauty, in memory, and in silver.
